Calling Responsible Businesses!

We are building a directory of retail and hospitality outlets in the UK that truly align with responsible, sustainable, and slavery-free chocolate. If your business prioritises full supply chain transparency, excellent pay for farmers, and decolonised chocolate sourcing, we want to feature you!

We welcome bakeries, cafés, restaurants, hotels, and retailers who go beyond certifications to ensure their chocolate is sourced without exploitation. If your brand is committed to direct trade, farmer ownership, and real responsible practices—not just marketing claims—get in touch to be part of the Chocolution. Together, we can drive change in the chocolate industry.

A Focus on Decolonisation

The global chocolate industry has long been built on exploitative colonial structures that keep wealth and power in the hands of Western corporations while farmers in cocoa-growing regions remain underpaid and marginalised. At Join the Chocolution, we are committed to breaking this cycle. We will highlight businesses that actively work towards decolonised chocolate—those that support farmer-owned enterprises, local chocolate production in cocoa-growing countries, and direct trade models that shift power back to the communities who grow the cocoa.

Building Stronger Connections

As part of this movement, we are prioritising chocolate producers who align with these values, ensuring they receive the visibility and support they deserve. Our goal is to build relationships between makers, hospitality businesses, and consumers, fostering a network that drives ethical change. Through our own events, collaborations, and presence at trade shows, food festivals, and industry gatherings, we aim to create direct connections between responsible chocolate producers and the businesses and individuals who want to support them.

Challenging Greenwashing and Misleading Claims

Too many businesses use words like "ethical" and "sustainable" in their marketing without taking meaningful action to back them up. Vague claims and certifications that do not guarantee real change mislead consumers into thinking they are making responsible choices when they may still be supporting exploitative supply chains. Under UK advertising laws, businesses must be able to prove their ethical and sustainability claims with clear, verifiable evidence. The burden of proof is on the company making these claims, not on consumers to investigate them. We stand against greenwashing and will only feature businesses that can demonstrate genuine responsibility, transparency, and commitment to decolonising chocolate.

If your business is part of this movement, we want to hear from you!
